Pride 2020: The Road to Equality

In honor of the Stonewall Uprising, each June Americans celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month. We do too, and as the month is wrapping up, we are sharing some of the significant milestones that have taken place since then on the road to equality.

Happy Pride 2020

Dallas, Oak Cliff, and whenever we’re celebrating with you. This year pride is going virtual.

“The LGBTQ+ community has always become more resilient in the face of uncertainty, and we are doing that today in the midst of this pandemic,” Jaron Turnbow, executive director of Dallas Pride, noted. “Pride is not just about one event; it’s about celebrating a spirit of community that no virus can destroy. It’s an exciting prospect to reach an even bigger audience virtually, and to bring our message to the living rooms of supporters across the DFW Metroplex and beyond in an inclusive way.”

WE ARE TAKING IMMEDIATE ACTION

Our team has made the commitment to ourselves, our neighborhood, our city, and the world; to keep listening, to keep thinking about ways we can support black leaders and black-owned businesses, and to continue promoting progress.

On June 8th, the Founder & CEO of Compass, Robert Reffkin, appeared on CNBC Squawk on the Street to announce immediate actions that the company is taking to support economic equality for the black community. We’re so proud to be a part of an organization that is holding its agents and external advisors to a higher standard. You know we are on board, and you can see it for yourself here.
