Downtown Elmwood

Anchored by historic structures like Margaret B. Henderson Elementary School, Balboa Place and a Masonic lodge, Downtown Elmwood is the name affectionately given to a commercial district of roughly 14 acres – centered on S Edgefield Ave and Ferndale Ave – and comprised of dozens of small businesses, several places of worship, restaurants and even a recording studio.

Elmwood Parkway

Did you know 16-acre Elmwood Parkway connects Tyler Station to Kiest Park?!

“This expansion of the Elmwood Parkway trail makes it possible to ride a bike from Tyler Station to Kiest Park entirely via trails and bike lanes.

The trail connects to the Kiest Park Loop Trail, which ends at Rugged and Pentagon Parkway. From there, pedestrians and cyclists could take Five Mile Parkway, then a zig-zag of residential streets and cross Hampton to the Kiestwood Trail, although there is no bike lane.”

Why We Love Elmwood

Composed of Tudor cottages, craftsman bungalows and ranch-style homes built mostly in the 1920s through the 1950s, Elmwood’s charm is one of a kind.

What was the market like for Elmwood in 2021?

Fun Fact:

Elmwood used to be the Tennessee Dairy farm, established in 1907. You can still see remnants of the original stone walls around the neighborhood! Check out this article from the Elmwood Neighborhood Association to learn more.
